Truck History
This 1989 Mack Super-Liner Series 2, known as My Dog, is a true example of Australian trucking heritage, with a history spanning decades of hard work and heavy haulage.
Powered by the legendary Mack E9 V8 and coupled to a 12-speed Mack transmission with 58,000 lb rear ends, this Super-Liner is a formidable combination built for the demands of heavy haulage.
Originally operating as RTA #75, the Mack spent part of its working life in the Northern Territory, where it was used to pull road trains through some of Australia's toughest conditions.
The truck was purchased from Jon Kelly in 2008 as a blank canvas. Jon undertook the process of bringing the Mack back to life and introduced the now-iconic Queensland maroon colour scheme, giving the truck the distinctive appearance it is known for today.
The truck has now been proudly owned and operated by Simon Sturges for the past 18 years, continuing its working life towing floats and platforms throughout Queensland and beyond.
After years of hard work, My Dog continues to be a proud reminder of the people, trucks and history that have shaped Australia's heavy-haulage industry.
A truck with genuine working history, an unmistakable presence and a story that deserves to be remembered and shared with the next generation of Australian truck enthusiasts.
